"The Hunua Ranges frame the region's southeastern skyline and
make up Auckland's largest forested landscape. More than 14,000
hectares of native forest filters about 2300mm of rain annually into
four dams, which supply most of Auckland's water.
The park itself features tramping tracks, mountain biking, amazing scenery, fishing, swimming pools and waterfalls."
I dusted off my 10-stop ND filter for this shot. I haven't used it in a while since it doesn't fit my wide-angle lens, but I wanted to do a long exposure here to capture the moving clouds and get the water silky. I ended up needing 2 exposures (one for the sky and one for the foreground) and manually blending them.
Pity the water isn't a nicer colour though, this place would look so much better if the water looked blue or even clear, instead of muddy brown!
