Red ants, Singapore Botanic Garden.

They seems to be passing some things from the pincers to another, but it was too tiny for me to observe what was being passed. I like the transparent red colour of these ants. Anyone knows their name? They were spotted in Singapore, along the wooden hand rail of the Changi Board Walk. I particularly like their impromptu posture, they were beautiful to watch and shoot.

I believe it is a pest control company or agriculture company. The sale was made through the internet. Which is quite cool. Guess when the insect goes into human territory, they are no long that friendly to human. There is always this struggle, capturing insect images and deciding whether they are friends or foe. I am as confuse in this matter, though I do not disturb them or kill them in their natural habitat, however, I would chase them away if they are in my house. If they bite, I have no choice but kill them. Such is the mixed feeling I have.

I feel similarly towards insects - if I have come into their realm, I am a visitor. But if they threaten me or are in my house, I can do what I need to. I do usually try to catch and release, but that's not always possible.

This is a great shot and I'm glad that it's been recognized this way. =)
