ABOUT TIMELESS MUSIC PROJECT

On very small resources and mostly on a voluntary basis, this musician led independent project is based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and is run by Chocolate Fireguard's Pat Fulgoni. It has attempted to draw more attention to Yorkshire's amazing music scene and fill a much needed gap in export support for Yorkshire's talented music industry.

For example we have showcased numerous breakthrough acts and labels on tastemaker compilation CDs and at live showcase events at international music conferences. And we have promoted regional music as an official partner in the British Music Industry stand.

In 2009, after 3 years of regional compilation CDs for international music conferences, we established the first ever "all Yorkshire" showcase at SXSW, USA featuring Wild Beasts, Sky Larkin, Paul Marshall amongst others. At that time other UK regions had been showcasing at SXSW and/or the British Music Embassy in Austin for many years but for some reason Yorkshire hadn't. We continued to fight for funding and support delivering further Yorkshire SXSW showcases in 2010 and 2011. We believe music deserves much more real and effective support than it is getting right now and should receive at least as much investment as other sectors.
