This shot was taken in rather difficult conditions – basically like
all my zoo shots. As a father of 3-year-old twins, I have almost no
chance to go to zoo on my own. The boys are always with me calling for
my attention. On this particular day, one of them had come up with the
idea to not like the ape house at all, so he was pulling on whatever part of my
body he could get a hold of, insistently and with increasing vigor
asking to leave. I had a hard time to direct their attention to the
animals who were situated right behind a thick window, only about 1.5
meters away. In the few seconds I could buy myself by doing so, I took
I am telling this story to illustrate that my shots usually are point and shoot kind of shots. I simply don't have the time for photographic or technical considerations whatsoever. If something interesting shows up I quickly take a couple of shots and hope that I can turn them into something interesting back home on my Mac.
