I'm glad Trixie is okay! Is that what you are referring to? The crash?

Just think of all the nervous days and nights you are going to have when she starts driving?

My boys are 18 and 22 and I have just within the past year gotten where I don't worry about them the whole time they are out driving around... :)

Yes, unfortunately we got rear-ended this afternoon:
First car crash.

The good news is that Trixie is 100% fine. I've got a little neck pain, but I hope it will clear up.

You ARE blessed! I'm so glad to hear that you & Trixie are okay.

From the pictures, it looks like they rammed you pretty good. I would caution you to be careful over the next few weeks. You may not notice the effects of the collision until later.

It was a month or so after just being in a pick-up truck that had to slam on the breaks fast that I began getting severe headaches. I didn't think anything of it at the time of the incident, since we were okay, but was later diagnosed as having whiplash.

Some of my symptoms were: not feeling well; loss of appetite; BAD headaches; lack of concentration; temporary memory loss - unable to retain information; sleeping too much and finding it hard to get to sleep.

I don't want to scare you - you've been through enough already! - but I wished I'd known ahead of time what to expect.

Take care & hugs to all,
Lori :)

thanks Lori,

My neck is still aching a lot so I'm taking it easy today. Just trying to ice and rest. And I'm going to take a wait and see approach over the next few weeks.

Trixie still seems a-ok. As my friend said, "Kids are made of rubber". I wish I was!

I second Lori's comment. My daughter and I were in the identical situation, the SUV that hit my Altima was going between 20-25, and we were at a dead stop. We insisted her insurance company buy us a new car seat - we just bought one and turned the receipt in, and also, we insisted that they put us in a rental car that was the equiv. or better to the safety level of the car we owned. They tried to put us in a tiny little Ford Echo, but we refused until we got a van. I don't normally complain or whine about anything, nor take pain medication for even headaches, but I ended up in physical therapy for several weeks to get rid of some pretty intense back problems that took a while to surface. Ella was fine, but of course we had her checked out well. And also, we fought for the insurance amount equivalent to the loss of value to our car after it was smashed and put back together, since we will have to report it when we sell or trade it in. Just some tips from someone who's been there - and it was on my 30th birthday!

On a side note - I love the new layout. Been a big fan and occasional commentor. My daughter is a few weeks younger than Trixie and looks a lot like her.
