On Monday, September 12, Heidi Klum enjoyed a visit with patients in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The "Project Runway" host participated in arts and crafts in the playroom, making special crowns and necklaces for patients that would surely have made Tim Gunn proud.
Due to infection precautions, youngsters in the Bone Marrow Transplant unit were unable to leave their rooms but that didn’t stop them from giving Heidi a warm welcome when she made her way to deliver a toy to each patient on the floor, courtesy of Toys 'R Us.
Though Heidi is an ongoing supporter of the hospital, she was also shedding light on the importance of volunteerism in support of AOL’s Action America, a brand whose mission is to make the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 a day of positive action. But, according to Heidi, it’s "not just about what you do on 9/11, it’s what you do on 9/12 and every day after."
