Bonaparte's Invasion

Almost dainty, I believe this is the smallest gull in North America. Tens of thousands descend on the Great Salt Lake during fall migration to gorge themselves on brine shrimp, virtually the only living thing that can survive in the lake. Eared Grebes are seen in the background. They gather in the tens of thousands during migration at the lake before heading for the southern and western coasts.
