hands with henna

Me and my friend got a hand done each by a little girl in Mt Abu, India. This isn't proper henna, it's a chemical substitute that's dark and stamped on with carved wooden stamps. We tried to get proper mehndi done later while we were in Jaiselmer, but not really thinking, we got it applied right before we were having dinner and catching an overnight train. Needless to say, the mehndi didn't stay on our hands long enough to work :(

Nice mehndi work. You might want to add a mehndi tag so your lovely image will show up with the others similarly tagged. See www.flickr.com/photos/tags/mehndi/

The problem is that places like jiapur, jaisalmer and Rajasthan in whole is completely geared towards tourism and selling the "Indian" concept that people will stop at nothing, including chemical henna.

Down south, things are a tad better.

@62: Haha! Clearly it is a picture of two different people's hands, unless "me and my friend" refers to a person with multiple personality disorder, and two left hands.
