This is a photo of my Sputnik-1 satellite, taken on my sim Whimsy Kaboom. Unretouched Second Life snapshot.

Sputnik-1, launched in 1955 by the Soviet Union, was the first man-made satellite. In that Cold War era it scared the bejesus out of Americans.

The Cretaceous Lives on at Whimcentricity

I was brooding on the bridge at our Whimcentricity sim when the geyser erupted. I set midnight and prepared to take a photo. Just as I did the resident pterodon flew across the bright particles of the fountain (hint, it's heading left). Unaltered Second Life photo.
