    In Howard county, Activists with CCAN affiliate Climate Change Initiative of Howard county organized an action that included a tree planing and the construction of a giant cube representing 1 metric ton of carbon-dioxide gas.

      Mike Tidwell was one of several great speakers at this event in Hopewell Park Columbia Md. Event cosponsor, the Columbia Association planted 200 trees and CA President Nelson talked about solar panels, and many building energy conversation efforts CA has done. Rep. Sarbanes and County Executive Ken Ulman talked about Federal and County governmental energy initiatives. The Girl Scouts had laptops and helped people find their household carbon impact. There were 4 bands, many information booths. Bonnie, a CCIHC leader, had solar panels installed on her house this day then biked over 7 miles to this event! A great day!
