Awesome pink

Awesome pink by Just Peachy!.
A close-up of the cool tree we saw at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park in Vancouver. I've never seen anything like it and I have no idea what it is, but it sure was pretty!

Great capture! I think it's a silk tree (mimosa). I have family friends who have one in their backyard and it's beautiful. They fold their leaves up at night.

They're in Robert's and also my neighborhoods, too. The flowers have a very strong scent, are very beautiful, but the trees look like hell in the winter (they lose all their leaves and almost look dead in comparison to other deciduous trees. I've also heard they don't live very long, but I don't know that for sure.
