First View of the Kaabah

First View of the Kaabah by Chennette.
I just returned from the Hajj. Given the nature of the journey/pilgrimage I don't have alot of photos, but still have enough to sort through.

This was a quick shot just before I started my first ever tawaaf around the Kaabah (on the top level), as part of the Umrah for Hajj. With the crowds in place just days before the Hajj, it took a little manoeuvering to get this.
Cameraphone.

Fantastic angle and perspective. A cameraphone is great in a pinch and this did very well

tamara - thanks :-) and thankfully the New Year brought with it all our luggage :-D yay to all my new hijabs coming safely to me!

thanks guys! I tried to get a people-free shot at first, but then gave in I don't even know who this guy is ;-) I wasn't sure that I would be able to take a regular camera in, but somehow other people snuck in videocams etc so I do actually have a few witha P&S - not big enough pockets to sneak in a DSLR
