sawine
SAWINE: Traditional Muslim Indo-Trinidadian dessert/sweet, made for
Eid and other celebrations. We share this to non-Muslim neighbours,
much as the Hindu Trinis share parsad to us for Divali. Brown
vermicelli noodles with cloves, cardamom and spice, then boil in lots
of water with some sugar. Boil separately evaporated milk and
condensed milk, add to vermicelli.
Yummy, hot or cold.
Serve with ground almonds...or, if you really want to raisins,
cherries etc. I just like the nuts.
