First Friday November 2009: Carnivorous Plant Feeding
Back for a second round by popular demand, Nocember 2009's Manual Science event at the Chemical Heritage Foundation featured feedings of carnivorous plants with talks from Martha Miller, educator and carnivorous plant expert, and Joe Rucker, chemist and carnivorous plant enthusiast.
Martha Miller is a self-taught proponent of native species of carnivorous plants and regularly gives workshops and lectures. She has won numerous awards at the Philadelphia Flower Show, including Best of Day and the Meadowbrooke Farm Trophy.
Joe Rucker has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and is Director of Research & Development at Integral Molecular.
