Je sais mais je crois que souvent on peut dire "keyboard" en traduisant cette titre.

Anyway i was just having fun with the reference. Madame musicologiste ;)

Moi aussi -- I'm not really that pedantic. ;) Plus, you're right.

yay for both! hee.

I guess my title was too pedantic anyway. I suspected you might be one of the few to get it.

Is it really possible to be too pedantic? ;)

Lovely story about John Field, inventor of the Nocturne. He died on Moscow, and, seeing the end approaching, his friends sent for a Catholic priest. However, Field simply gestured the priest that his services were not required.
Anxious in case M. Field, though Irish, was a Protestant, the priest enquired
M. Field—êtes-vous Calviniste?
to which Field replied
Non—je suis claveciniste

I love the idea of an Irishman going out on a truly awful pun.

Ronán : hee hee! That's great. I dont' know if I'd rather this were true, or another of your own fabulous inventions ;)

Thanks Gen.

And just to go on about the title and continue the pedantry here ( heh) the treatise in question is from 1716 and they hadn't yet invented the piano. For this reason it's also viewed as a how-to of keyboard playign in general... although clearly there are big differences to playing the harpsichord and the piano.

...and that's why I thought the effing title was ok but maybe I was just free-associating.
