Point of View

Brush Creek Falls
Mercer County

Although it's one of my favorite waterfalls in West Virginia, I had never been totally satisfied with many of my images taken here. During last years Autumn season, I visited here on several occasions and decided to skip the usual compositions; I waded across the creek and scrambled up to this vantage point for a unique point of view of this beautiful waterfall. I now have several images that I'm quite happy with! As always, thanks for looking and your comments are much appreciated.

Afternoon Light

Afternoon Light

Dunloup Creek
New River Gorge

Afternoon light is normally pretty sweet on Dunloup Creek and on this day, I wasn't disappointed. I have tons of compositions here, as this is my go-to waterfall in the NRG. Not only is the light usually great, but the waterflow is always consistent. It was shallow enough this day for me to wade out into the stream for some newer compositions.

Sorry I haven't posted or commented in a long while; I've been crazy busy, and in a good way! Numerous projects in the works, and I must confess, I've been spending some time over on Google + - look me up if you're over there as well :-)

Swirlicious part 2

Swirlicious part 2

Campbell Falls
Camp Creek State Park / Forest

Patience paid off for me and several of my friends this day as we waited for over an hour for this scene to unfold. The magic light and color was just ridiculous and we all jockeyed for various vantage points to capture this magnificent display.

I had previously posted a similar image, but I wasn't completely satisfied with it. Many thanks to my good friend Michael Hensley for the assist in cleaning up this one.

Looking Back . . .

Mill Creek
Ansted, WV
New River Gorge

One of my favorite mountain streams, Mill Creek rarely disappoints with its beautiful waterfalls and cascades - especially during autumn with the brilliant display of color.

Looking Forward

Looking Forward

Laurel Creek
Gauley River Tributary
New River Gorge

With the vivid autumn colors now a memory and with colder temps, snow and rain moving in, I'm already looking forward to the new greens of spring! Don't get me wrong, I love a snow covered landscape, but for me, it's hard to beat the renewal of spring. Thanks for looking and I truly appreciate your comments!
