We had John's dad over - a ham cooked very
slowly in a big pot full of white wine with
carrots, onions, celery, garlic cloves and
herbs. We also had roast potatoes and
parsnips, and steamed mangetout, broccoli and
cauliflower. We were very full at the end of
it!
Wonderful, warm and welcoming! I love your
kitchen, I bet we have a lot of the same
things..What a good idea having a curtain
over the back door, help to keep out the cold
and a great look!
Hello Jolli, what lovely words! Our cottage
is old and draughty and heated mainly by a
wood burning stove, so door curtains are a
necessity, though I love the look of them
too. I always feel so at home when I see your
interior shots, we seeem to have a love of
the same things!
Lovely colours Susie! - we have the same
problem - none of the doors shut anyway, but
the cat won't have them shut, so we've got
curtains too. That looks really cosy.
We've got a hole cut in the bottom of this
door to allow the cats in and out of the
conservatory, which is marginally less
draughty than leaving the door open!. Like
you, our cats won't have the door shut into
the sitting room (if we try there's always a
queue on either side) so we have a heavy
curtain there too. But curtains do feel
cosy.
This sort of chaos is good! I thought those
were tomatos on the cutting board so I just
knew you had salad. I have to tell you I
viewed large and had my magnifying glass
looking at everything. Made myself right at
home, I did. (but that's what your pics
invite me to do!"
Elaine, or should I call you Sherlock? -
you're right, we started with a salad - we
have plenty of salad leaves now growing in
the veggie patch although the tomatoes are
shop bought as ours are a long way from
cropping at the moment. Glad to hear you made
yourself at home!
Hello Anna my friend, I'm so glad you like
our kitchen.
Sue, I don't blame you, the washing up was
not for the faint hearted!
Ha! now I'm a little embarrassed. You just
have so many interesting things to see! It
wasn't just the tomato Sherlock spotted. It
also looked like lettuce in the blue bowl on
the left. LOL! Hope you are having a great
day!
Don't be embarrassed, I'm impressed with your
sleuthing! Yes, the lettuce came from our
garden and I washed it in the blue colander.
Did you notice the huge torch being charged
up near the lettuce? We use it for five
minutes and it takes several hours to
re-charge!
LOL! I saw that big torch (spotlight to us)
and maybe a smaller red one hanging on the
shelf. Didn't want to bring up any eye
issues you may have! Just kidding!
You know whenever I come to your stream I
have the feeling that I'm visiting... it's a
very nice atmosphere your cultivate here. The
chaos as you call it looks very artistic and
I'm glad there's blue there or I'd have been
disappointed. I love the check btw - that's
what cottages are meant to have in the
kitchen :-)
I love everything about your kitchen! My
grandkids and family were visiting this past
week-you should have seen the chaos in the
Teeny Tiny Cabin! Have a great day Susie!
Elaine, the red light is a clip on spotlight
and is a permanent fixture!
Zixi, thank you as ever for those thoughtful
words, it's nice that you find my chaos
artistic, although quite a lot of it is stuff
waiting to be washed up or cleared away! And
glad you liked my gingham!
Claudia, thanks for the visit - the first
photo I ever saw of your place was of that
lovely homey kitchen of yours, I'm glad you
like mine!
sbpoet, thanks for the vsit and nice words,
much appreciated!
dogwoodtree, thanks fpr the nice words, it is
a nice place to sit in with friends. As we
don't have a dining room, this is where we
usually eat when we have friends and family
round

Reminds me of kitchens of my Bohemian (well,as in Czech as well) aunties. Pretty colours + cosy. What did you cook?
