Back to Back

Back to Back by charliestyr.
Well, my computer was acting up as usual, (I've been blaming it on Windows for a while now), anyway, it got very angry, so I decided I would have a check of my 4port Firewire card that I had in there, it hadn't worked soon after day one, so I ripped it out, and boom! Computer came straight back on, (it didn't explode),

so for nearly a year I've been blaming Windoze for all my problems, and it was just some faulty firewire card, anyway, this isn't going to stop me getting a Mac next time round...

I took the shot with a back to back technique, the Kit lens on the 400D, and I put the 50mm f/1.8 up to the lens reversed to get the super macro ability, and also the dark edges you'll notice. It's quite a nice shot, although not very clear, as it is quite hard to keep everything steady when you're holding a camera and another lens!

Hope you're well,

Charlie -

I like the angle and perspective, the illumination and the balance between the focal point and the DOF.

And I'm sure it won't, I'll be going over to the other side, and this time it won't be dark... :)

Reversing a lens is an effective technique.
You also can use a Reverse coupling ring to mount a lens in reverse in front of a normal lens. Typically these rings have 52mm filter threads on both sides.

I can imagine how hard it was to hold the camera, the lens and then try to get good focus! Nice shot - a real lensbaby/holga effect to this.
