Late night on the Upper West Side
A photograph from my window at the place I was staying. It was a long while ago that I was there now, so, I can't remember what I was doing that involved being up that late, considering jet lag and all. Probably a meal in a further away restaurant or something then a leisurely walk back.
Ohh, I really enjoyed the area I was staying, (Broadway and W 101st Street), such cool buildings, shops, restaurants etc. Obviously here is just an animal hospital and apartments I assume, but nonetheless nice buildings. It was often amusing seeing how quickly parking spaces are refilled when someone leaves...
...there was generally very little traffic past the window, but, every time someone came out of their building, got in their car and left, another car would appear from nowhere and take the space, I guess people drive on broadway looking for cars leaving as they drive past or something. Who knows. If I lived there I would probably not have a car!
Hope you're well,

Guggenheim
Another one from NYC. It was nice weather every day, still, hot, wonderful. One day it was windy actually, and when I stepped outside, I was in shock, I'd completely forgotten what wind felt like, and it was so annoying, blowing stuff around, I mean... god! :D
Obviously this is the guggenheim. Shot from the central park side of the street, (I guess), the trees made a nice frame, although, I wish that building weren't there at the bottom right, but, meh, it's fine.

Horatio St / Greenwich St
Ahh, I went back to the NYC pictures. I love them so much. This is one of my favourite aspects of many residential streets in NYC, the browstone steps, the decorative bannisters, the pillars. I love them!
This was on the corner of Horatio St and Greenwich St. Just one block over was the very cool looking Hudson Bar & Books on Hudson St, I saw the partner bar in Prague during my InterRailing over the summer, if I were 21 I may have popped in for a classic Dry Martini or similar. ;-)

Parliament
A picture from Edinburgh! I still have plenty of photos from NYC, but I figure I should at least vaguely reveal where I am currently residing, as there are no photos from Edinburgh on my Flickr yet, at least from my University times, except for the video of rain :D
So, this is the parliament building. As far as rumours go, it cost billions and was as late as sin, but, it looks quite cool. Not particularly fitting in places, but, it's cool nonetheless.

Book Launch
So, this was the scene after a nice address from Norman McGrath on architectural photography, and the release of his book, a volume 2, I believe of 'Architectural Photography'.
He showcased some phenomenal work, mostly taken using the Canon 17mm TS-E, I'd never appreciated the effect on architectural photography, but it was amazing.
This picture annoyed me, because the chairs were put out crookedly, (or became crooked as people sat down), and so, I was trying to straighten the picture for ages before realising something was wrong, as something was always crooked. I figure it's the chairs, not the building, so the building took priority.
