This is the extreme Macro or the Reverse Lense Macro , some may called it Zen Macro, Closer & Closer Macro; which I name it NaNo.

The technique I employed is a little difference in the sense that the Lense is not attached to camera body. That is hand held & need to observe our breath & hold it when clicking the camera shutter.

Practice of meditation would be good prior to using these kind of technique.

Lighting position is an important consideration in experiments/projects like these. When lighting is too bright it will cause over exposure of the shot.

Digital Noise reduction should be done before posting.

For this NaNo series, the object's would be focused into about 1mm or less of the actual area.

Pachelbel Canon  Pro User  says:

The great majority of macro photographic images would be well suited to illustrate textbooks in botany or entomology. That is not to say that such images cannot be interesting or beautiful, because they abundantly can. But we often find that these images -- however colourful or well-rendered they may be -- can be of limited interest. The technique CharlieBrown8989 has pioneered brings another dimension to macro photography: the images lose their "portrait of a flower" character and become swirling abstractions of line and shape and colour. These maintain their interest for the same reason abstract paintings do: the viewer is free to form, and to change and revise, interpretations with every new viewing. The technique is more difficult than it first appears, and good results are sometimes elusive. But study the images in the NaNo set: clearly wonderful things are possible!

Every picture tells a story.
It tells a story of the person who took it.
It tells a story from others who interpret it.
It shows many sides to a charcter, not only the picture itself.
A gateway to another universe.

Up until now, I have no idea about photograohic technicalities. I haven't asked Dad the nic and nacs of it. Though I did ask him how to get started on macro.

The Best Advice from him(Charliebrown8989) - is be who I am, follow my heart.

If I do ever take macros, it's always about my heart and feelings. =) It's therapeutic.

Imagination is a wonderful tool to explore freedom, even when taking photos.

Thanks Dad for sharing your kind heart, ways and pictures with us.

I will write in French it is easier for me.

Dear Charlie, your pictures are so wonderful.

I like the delicacy of this set the volutes, the colors, the choice of the subjects.

Congratulations for the success of these photographs.

I hope for one day to have the translation in French for better including/understanding how you make.

Always impassioned to learn I will be happy to include/understand the method....

Is that correct?? I found that google or Babelfish translation on Chinese, Italian, Japanese, & French are not that right & not that close to our mother tongue meaning.

I always wondered how you made such beautifully abstract macros. Thank you for the explanation. I can (kind of) envision how you do it now, but have yet to try it myself. One of these days I will give it a try, and see what results I can get. Do you hold the macro lens (backwards) up to your camera? With what type lens on the camera? Or no lens on the camera body at all?

You are a true artist, Charlie. I am perpetually awed and inspired by your work.

Lawatha

That is right!! Lense is Reversed up to the Camera, The camera is on the tripod.

Your left palm must hold the Lense & hold back against the Camera body.

Hold your breath once you make the objects in focus.

Then click the shutter.

You are great as well.....

I feel like I've just visited a silk shop, with bolts of color floating and swirling in the air. Lovely, lovely.

Turquoise Bleue's trranslation is pretty close but the last sentence would be more like "I always love to learn and I'd really like to know how you do this."

I don't quite see what you mean by "lens is reversed up to the camera" - do you have removable lenses? I'm lost!

CharlieBrown8989 says:

Ellen

Thanks for the translation part.

As for the lense

let me explain.

In the technique group, the forum teach is use a coupler to hold 2 lense together.

But for the technique I employed is: detached your SLR Standard lense , & have the front part of the lense which you normally protect with the UV filter end hold tight toward the Lense Mounting part of the Camera body.

While the camera is seated on the tripod.

I hope this is clear enough.

Let me know. Thanks.....

To Charlie Tan,
A photograph is life distilled and preserved for eternity. An expressive face, a fleeting moment in nature, an abstract shape- these are the fundamentals of photography. A photograph conveys, in a way no words can, a sense of the mystery and beauty of life, nature, and the achievements of mankind, Congratulations!

Thanks Charlie for introducing this set to me, I am astounded by your immense ingenious creativity. Through simplicity, you had brought forth a great transformation of simple day to day items into a world of constant changing art everytime you look at it again. I can feel the excitement each time when the pic was taken, the expectations and possibibilities are enough to drive one crazy. This set is trully wonderful beyond word and should be called " Nano Photoart ". You had wonderfully combined Art & Photo into a single form! Tons of people out there will be trying this out because of you and thanks again for your creativity.
