La Tour Eiffel

At the time of its construction in 1889, the Eiffel Tower replaced the Washington Monument as the world's tallest structure, a title it retained until 1930, when New York City's Chrysler Building (1063.33 ft tall) was completed. The tower is now the fifth-highest structure in France. The Eiffel Tower is the highest structure in Paris, with the second-highest being the Tour Montparnasse. (Wikipedia)

Thanks yahoowonder ! I tone mapped this shot to improve the exposure and then I played with the colour tones and gave it that warmish glow. Finally I sharped it a little.

Did you know that this photo was used in a review in French of a new book (in German & French) about Austrian composers that had fled to France after the Nazis 'annexed' Austria? Check it out here.
