summer wednesdays
During the summer our small groups (Connections groups) take a few months off. We then go to a casual worship and teaching format for that time. I had worked on a previous concept here but decided to ditch.
This new look started with a tutorial at PSD Tuts and I added a bit of my own flavor.
Along with these posters (4.5" x 16" - size inspired by Ryan's recent soak project), this look will be incorporated into slide BG's for those Wednesday teachings, promo slides, bulletin content, and web content.
Both models are from Istock.
Cheers.

yeah, man. super fresh. Any chance you can bring some of that watercoloresque sweetness into the title. It doesn't have to compete with the colors you have in the main image, but just something other than gray.
Nice work.

Gorgeous. I adore it.
You need a period after summer.

like it chad. A little worried that the female looks a little pasty. Almost corpsish :)
the rest I like. only other tweek is maybe the copy could be the red or the blue and I would maybe align it on the left side with the bottom left side of the W in Wednesdays...It would help the eye a bit with movement.

maybe just an a little extra space between summer wednesdays and the copy too...

I think that is worth a two-up...

Weeehoooo!! This is way solid man. WAY solid!! I love it... I love the watercolor effect, and I love the simplicity and cleanliness of the layout. Cash M0neY!!!

Nice job, dood. I love it, but agree with Jeremy about the spacing between the title and the copy. You could just nudge the text on the left one down a bit, and the text on the right one up a bit. (Just for the sake of balance.)
Could def. go as-is though. Rock on.

Loving the use of the yellow back there. Is that a texture? It's a fantastic way to keep it feeling like Summer without going too bright (or too Easter-pastel). Perfect.

looks amazing. My only comment is that I love it so much I want to take by pants off.

It's hot in Chicago today and my pants are already off, so I can't join you SeanP.
Amazing texture. I want a copy.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm going to make a few of the changes suggested tomorrow, and reup it to the lab.
@VIP - you can have the texture for free. All I did was use the texurizer in PS with the canvas option, and then took Bitt Box's Free Grungy Paper Textures. I used I think three of them, and futzed around with the blending options, made copies, flipped rotated, until I had the results.

Not to sound like an echo, but this is very engaging—colors, layout, texture, size. I, too, would be curious to see the title in a color other than gray.
