Alleyway Door

Alleyway Door

I just received a new scanner so I thought I would try scanning some old negatives! Seems pretty sweet.

I think I surprised Jim on this one! You can see his photostream here

I took this one on my 4x5 camera with a lens I made using a dollar store magnifying glass. I got the idea from a View Camera magazine article by Mark Sawyer, where he describes the process.

I think I had some development issues on this negative. There are lots of patches... I did have a few stick together when I dumped them in the developer tray.

"But what's for dessert?"

This is an image I made for a recent article I wrote on the trichrome photography process (you can find it here).

The result was made by combining differently filtered exposures made on Ilford HP5 Film using my 4x5 camera. Red, green and blue filters were used to get information for each of the colour channels for later `reassembly`.
