Canadian Warplane Heritage 683 Lancaster X
The Canadian-built Lancaster X was similar to the British Lancaster Mk III, but featured Canadian (or American) radios, avionics and ball bearings. The engines were still Merlin 224s, built under license by the American Packard Motor Company.
In this photo you can see reassembly of engines 3 and 4 after replacement of the propeller blades. The Lancaster should be flying again by mid-month (May 2009).
