Cartographical grocery list

This is how I make grocery lists. I treat the sheet as a map of the supermarket, and then I write each item in the approximate place where I expect to find it. Saves a lot of time!

mi madre se la apunta en formato lista, segun el orden por el que recorre habitualmente el hipermercado, de tal forma que se va encontrando los productos por orden descendente; y cada producto que doge, o dobla la lista hacia atras (dejando el siguente producto al principio de la lista), o le hace un "tick" con la uña en el lateral del papel

es curioso ver los trucos de cada uno...

I think it works fine at small and medium size supermarkets because you don't loose "the north" there, you watch the entrance, boxes or exit always .
The problem appears when store is too big and you loose those references. What can you do with a map but not compass?
Of course, a simple randomize list works worse everywere. Any kind of organization helps you.

this is a great picture! I used to do the same thing with my grocery lists. Now I'm trying just writing it down by sections, and listing the sections in the order they appear in the store. Basically the same thing, although I think that being able to see where it is on a "map" might be easier!
