class 9 Theo Witsell and specimens of plants

Theo Witsell, botanist with the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, was the guest lecturer for session 9. Theo's presentation focused on the 65 natural areas within the State of Arkansas and their efforts in preserving plant and animal species natural to those areas. He indicated there are over 2700 plant species in AR with about 80% endemic to AR, the remaining are exotic, brought into the area from outside sources.
