triplets in a pink cradle
This is one of my finds from a leisurely walk last Saturday in the East Village Arts District in Long Beach, California. I headed for home shortly after this, as storm clouds were gathering. The soft light from the overcast sky brought out the full intensity of color in the bougainvillea bracts, one of the reasons I love shooting flowers under this kind of diffused light. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/3.5, 1/125 sec., ISO 400, heavy overcast, handheld)
Regular visitors to my stream may have noticed a preponderance of pink in my recent uploads. I am (like many others) honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, breast cancer survivors, and the millions (including my mother) who have been taken from us by this disease.
In the new Flickr, click anywhere in the image to see the large view on black -- or press "L" to "view in light box" (same thing).
