WARNING: Dense Fog Advisory

Newer Older

We went up to the hills to cut down our Christmas Tree. When we came down, the canyon had a thick blanket of fog that stretched for miles and miles. Many people stopped by the road side to take pictures. It was at this time, I was really hurting for a DSLR. But I worked the heck out of my powershot.

As you can see, it's almost like an ocean with waves. At least that's what I took from it. How beautiful it was. Hopefully you can tell. I tried to capture the moment. I'll tell you this, this photo doesn't do it justice. To be there in person was much more fulfilling. It was at that moment too, that I looked over at my roommate who had gone though a lot this year & asked, "How do you like your sunset now?". She grinned.

I with Matt and her with her boyfriend stood there in silence as we watched the sun set behind the mountains. These are the times.

I didn't know people still cut down their own Christmas trees. It's unheard of in Southern Cali. I suppose not in Northern. You have way more trees than we do.

    btw, great shot! lol

black/white_lamb: LOL. It's been a VERY long time since I've done that. We live about 1 hour away from the mountains, and yet sometimes it's just easier to pay $40.00 for one on a tree lot. I did have fun and it brought back a lot of fond memories though. And just think, I would have never seen this sight either! ^_^

    : Thank you girl.

Keiko loves you!: Thank you. I wanted to play with it a little bit. I was going to keep it at a purple hue, but I thought that this peuter/blue would be more realistic.

bubbles.*: Yeah, but wouldn't it be fun if we could bounce on them? You changed your icon. I like it! I don't think I've seen so much of your face before. You're beautiful!

gabojor: It worked! Then my job is done! *nods, and bows away! ^_^ Thank you

OMG!!!! I see five suns setting over a snow-covered lake...or it could be that you're flying into space!

And I love the second one too...maybe even more. What a fantastically incredible moment you captured!

    You're it! You've been tagged!

The rules are to upload the 5th photo from the 5th folder on your computer. I am told that you turn into a frog [or get lost in Dense Fog on your way home (Gio added this)] if you break the rule. Then, the person you tag, tags 5 more people! Please add your tagged photo to the "I've Been Tagged!" Group www.flickr.com/groups/926021@N24

This is wonderful. I love the sun's light bubbles bouncing off the fog. You can really have fun with this. I always am sorry when I leave home without my camera, but lately I've been doing it more and more :-(
Watching the sunset is so much more important than the shots. It will actually last a lifetime, and cannot be lost. Pictures can be shared, but they can be lost and never capture the full impact of the real thing. Good for your for stopping to enjoy it!

zenmasterlauren: Really? Gosh that means a lot 'coz I wasn't too sure about the photo.

gio: Awwwwww, you got me! Aim high and aim true!

Ari: Why have you been leaving home without it? I will say that it was much more grand and beautiful in person. I don't know if this is capturable. It was too beautiful!

spidy69cc: They aren't? Do you have a lot of contacts? I don't post them that often that they show up constantly. You'll just have to stop by and say hello! ^_^

~moniqe~: You kind of get the feeling like you're in a plane looking down huh? Someone told me that, so that's why I kept the shrubbery so that people would know I was on the ground. I'd love to revisit that again one day, perhaps with a better camera! ^_^
