I love the shape and colour of that vertical streak of blue sky just to the right of the middle of the photo and just to the left of the rig. Especially against the golden sky.

I use a Fujifilm s7000 - a prosumer camera that Fuji describe as an "enthusiasts" camera. It is an SLR, but with a fixed lens, a 6x Fujinon optical zoom lens equivalent to 35-210mm lens on a 35mm camera.
Its pretty good, but the sort of snaps I like to take (lots of sky and low focused subjects and sea shots) tend to have a bit of lens distortion. Easily fixed in Photoshop though.......
I think I'll bite the bullet and buy a full DSLR over the next few months, mind you I've now two boys at Uni and Magnus needs a new Road Bike.............
:-)

bought a DSLR after my fuji 7000 and am still impressed by the quality of the fuji Calum.

Well you use the camera to great effect. You are right about DSLR - loads of money!! Then they (in my case Canon) keep moving the goalposts (Eos 30d, 5d and 400d have all been released since i bought my 20D) and rumour is that the 1D will be upgraded shortly. I want to upgrade to full frame size sensor but the gap in money terms is large!!!
Buy one next time you are on an overseas jaunt Calum and save loadsamoney!

Just fantastic! The sky is unbelievably rich and dramatic. I especially dig the second rig on the far left of the shot, slightly masked by the rays of light. Great stuff : )
