Telemarketers!
Day 158 of 365
So today I'm doing about a hundred different things around the house. The phone rings and Kathy gets it and the person asks for me. I pick up the phone and some gal with a heavy foreign accent tells me she is from Trans something or other Financial. She offered me a free inspection of my home loan to see if they could save me money. I am already irritated because I was busy doing stuff for my daughter and don't need to be speaking with this "person" (I use the term loosely because I really don't care for these creatures). I politely tell her thanks, but no thanks. I'm not interested. She starts in again with her sales pitch claiming that they could save me money. I explain to the woman that I have a 30 year fixed at 5% and ain't no way she gonna beat that; not at the current rates. She then asks about 2nd mortgages and home equity loans and credit card debt and so on and so on. I tell her again I'm not interested. At this point the woman gets rude with me. She starts talking to me like I'm in 3rd grade like I don't understand what "We can save you money" means. It is one thing to call me and try to sell me something, but when I say NO, I mean NO! To turn around and yell at me for saying no is ruder than normal. To think that I would change my mind and say yes after being treated that way is nuts! Anyway, after she started talking to me like that I told her no again and then just hung up on her. I really don't like hanging up on people, even people I have no respect for (like rude telemarketers), but she was just pissing me off. My new resolution is to just hang up on these people straight off the bat. I've got better things to do than waste my time explaining to these people why I said no. Commentslrayholly
