Un-Blinded

Un-Blinded by Cayusa.
Day 35 of 365

I got this idea from some others similar in fashion and from Boheme333's Day 20 post. I didn't have any of the answers to her questions. One line in her post got the old creative gears rolling though. So this is a little visual response (and a fun little photo edit) to I am blind to the truth and I don't know how to open my eyes.

Why A Favorite?
The way this one turned out was better than I had expected. It's freaky, a bit disturbing and I love it.

Jeeze... I kind of like that and kind of hate it. It's visually interesting and you're obviously skilled, but that whole concept is wrong on some very basic, primal level. Good job, regardless
Posted 35 months ago. ( permalink )

view profile

Cayusa  Pro User  says:

@Aerdna, what exactly do you find wrong with the concept. I'd say it falls well within the realm of surrealism and don't find it "wrong" on any basic, or complex, primal or advanced level.

the liberation of the human mind, and subsequent liberation of the individual and society, can be achieved by exercising the imaginative faculties of the "unconscious mind" to the attainment of a dream-like state different from, or ultimately "truer" than, everyday reality.

this more truthful reality can bring about personal, cultural, and social revolution

My image was a direct response, albeit in a very surrealistic way, to questions posed and a statement made (I am blind to the truth and I don't know how to open my eyes.) by another user. It's sole purpose is to be interpretted by the viewer. I have my own interpretation of what this image says and why, but that is my personal take on the image and I don't want to influence anyone elses interpretation of the image.

Who hasn't had a dream that they have awoken from thinking, "Wow, that was really strange?" On a very basic and primal level our subconsious delivers to us (and always has), in the form of dreams, strange connections and interpretations of thoughts that on a consious level might not have occured to us -- new ways to view our lives, our surroundings, or our beliefs.

How can something so "normal" to the functioning of the human mind, something so basic and common be wrong on any level?

@thecarney23: reading your proposal I can't help remembering a brilliant track by Hans Dieter Hüsch, a well known German comedian linking Nazi ideology and people telling others they should get a haircut - thirty years since, but I won't forget that ...
