It Detects Dead People Too!

It Detects Dead People Too! by Cayusa.
Day 122 of 365 (Year Two)

Another Thursday and another episode of Lost. Tonight's episode was OK, but of all the episodes this season, I wasn't as impressed with it as others.

Coming up with a shot that worked for tonight's episode was a bit difficult too. There were no great lines like Hurly's line from last week and there just wasn't that much weirdness. There was a bit, but all in all, not like last week's with the reappearance of the smoke monster.

Next week's previews looked promising though.

As an aside, if you didn't check the batteries in your smoke detector when we sprang forward for daylight savings time, now is as good a time as any.

My smoke detectors are mains fed and connected to a central monitor station. One of the advantages of working where I do.

(The only problem is if you have a particularly smoky time in the kitchen it goes nuts and you have to phone up to tell them that it is just you cooking!)

That is how we used to know dinner was ready. When the smoke detector went off the call for dinner wasn't far behind.

Be careful with smoke detectors that run off of the power to your house. When the power goes, so do they. My sister's college had smoke detectors like that and, if not for one security guard who noticed smoke, her school could have had a real disaster on their hands. The power went out during exams week so of course the students were all using candles so they could study. They also opened all their windows so they could get some air. Candle got knocked over, building caught fire, but because the power was out the alarms never went off. A security guard happened to be walking by and saw the fire and got everyone out while notifying the fire dept. If he hadn't been there at just the right time, that building would have gone up with all the kids inside and the by the time the fire dept. would have been notified, it would have been too late.

I don't have a problem with them running off the main feed to the house, but it is nice to have that battery back-up just in case.

This is good. Yeah last nights episode was just ok. It didn't give us that much more information, but it gave us more answers. Like are they all dead? Well I guess this has been a question that we have all wondered since like the 2nd season. I want these questions answered and I don't want to have to wait until the show come to an end.

I don't think it ever answered that question. Sure Jack's father and Charlie (as far as we know), but as for Hurly's theory, I'm not sure he is right. Is he seeing Charlie? No doubt, but I don't think that this theory about the survivors is accurate.

I did like the hint they gave us about the fates of the rest of the group not included in the Oceanic Six.

I am curious about Claire and why she'd wander off like she did.

I think the most important point brought up in the show was Rose's statement about Jack's condition and how the Island behaves. I hope that is clear enough without giving anything away. LOL

Yeah I did think it was strange that he got sick too. Hmm... I was thinking that maybe when they said they found the people from the plane at the bottom of the ocean that maybe they really did. Everyone is still on the island and not knowing they are dead. Really who knows. Or maybe Claire was sick and dying and that is why she was able to see her dad. I don't know. I guess we could come up with all these stories to what we think is really happening, but really we will just have to watch each week and see what happens.

I keep wondering if there is any signifigance to the fact that the xrays jack was looking at were of a spinal tumor. That's what Ben had. And in the same area.....

Yeah, I wondered about that as well. They better answer all these questions when the finally end the show or I'm gonna have to hunt them down.

I LOVE Lost - I rather liked last night's episode even though Jack was totally annoying when he insisted on staying awake for his own surgery - come on now - like he was going to be able to give Juliet tips during his own operation. Jeez.

I wondered the same thing as Twisted Angel about the spinal x-rays.

I didn't dislike last night's episode, I just didn't think it was as good as the other episodes so far this season.

If it was my own place then my choice would be to have battery fed detectors. But then the problem with that is people not checking the batteries...
