The expression on her face is priceless! This is really great and reminds me of the other shot you did where the world was being handed to the young, which was also excellent!

That's pretty cute! =)

It's very interesting how it feels like she's emerging from the dark of the background.

Great idea, and she's too cute! I really like how the world is in half darkness as well. How did you get the world pic in there?

I always use a place holder. In this case it was a 20" beach ball that she was holding. The peace picture that was referenced earlier was actually a basketball.

Fabulous for the assignment. And wonderful with her missing front teeth :-) This will be a great memory for her when she's grown up.

Thanks! Those front teeth are taking forever to grow back in. She lost them both just before Christmas and we haven't even gotten the buds yet. It is rather humorous to watch her try and eat certain foods that typically require front teeth! LOL

What a fantastic shot, Bart. I really like this-- but you know by now that I'm typically blown away by your mad PS skillz anyway. Wouldn't change a thing-- except to put it in a frame and hang it on your wall.

No, she is holding a beach ball. I used the beach ball as a place holder. Anything round would have worked, but the beach ball was the right size. I used a basketball in different shot that I did as a stand in for the Earth. Once the shot I taken and I like what I have it is a simple matter of cutting and pasting in the Earth and then cutting away from that what I want to show through. Very similar in concept to cloning. The beach ball or basketball or whatever you use also allows me to get a good feel on the shadows that would be cast across a spherical surface.

When you do a shot like this, if you can manage to have a place holder in the shot you will find those manipulations a lot better than when you try and fake it and end up hugging just air. It doesn't have to be the exact shape, but the closer you get whatever it is you will replace, the more realistic it will be in the final product.
