Peace

Week 44, Assignment 3 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Peace on Earth. These are the images chosen by people rejecting a Christian Holiday, but who still want to send out cards. Also, this will give us a chance to be creative and stray from the overall Christmas theme. Show us image of Peace or peacefulness. Bonus points for images appropriate for Holiday cards.

I started this assignment with a completely different idea. The concept for this shot evolved from those first shots, which I really wasn't 100% happy with. They were nice enough, but didn't have the impact that I wanted. I really love how this shot turned out and I'm glad I took a few set-up shots for this as well, it being a last minute idea and all.

I asked my neighbor Ed to come over so I could take some shots. He laughed at me and shook his head as he is known to do when he thinks I am crazy, but being the fantastic neighbor he is, he agreed. I'm glad he did because he was pivotal to the concept I was working on.

I really love the fact that I am finally living in a neighborhood where I have "real" neighbors. Neighbors who will help you out even when they think you are crazy and who will check in with you if they don't see you for a few days.

Thank you! This one really wasn't that hard. I shoot in RAW so I can play with the exposure and clarity, etc which is really helpful. I didn't do a lot of adjusting on the original of this shot, but there was some. I also shot this with an umbrella which gives a much softer light. I had them hold a basket ball as a place holder for the globe. I then pasted the globe over top and then cut away where the fingers and hand were. I then drew in shadows (using those on the basketball as a guide). Once I was satisfied with how that all looked I ran the Glam Blur Action which softens it up just a bit. Other than running the action, it was pretty simple cut and paste.

I am apart of the Global Peace Summit and I was hoping to use your picture.
We are in the midst of becoming an international NGO with the goal of hosting a Peace Summit for 100 youth in 2011.
The purpose of this meeting will be to gather youth from around the world to create a declaration of peace.
"We will not wage war when we are world leaders"
