Christmas Cliché

Day 321 of 365

Week 44, Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Deck the Halls. Make an image of a homemade Christmas Decoration Cliché. Don’t use a store bought one, someone else may own the copyright! I’ll name the most cliché, but don’t feel that rules it out – Holly! What else can you show us that people generally associate with Xmas decorations?

What is more cliché when it comes to Christmas Decorations than the lights. Sure, they themselves aren't homemade, but what you do with them is.

I had a lot of fun taking these shots, but I have to say that the lights themselves get pretty damn hot......painfully so, but I am really liking the shots I got so it was worth the pain. I think I'm going to have some fun with these lights over the next month or so.

Normally I wouldn't have started with the lights until at least after Thanksgiving, but Dave chose the assignment for this week so out they came.

Why is it that no matter how carefully you put them away that when you pull them out a year later they are always a tangled mess?

Try and use indoor lights. I'm thinking that maybe then don't get as hot as these did. After a bit they really start to hurt. It is a very strange sensation and hard to explain. They aren't super hot, but hot enough to cause little pin pricks of discomfort.

It also helps to have somebody there to help wrap the lights. I would never have gotten them wrapped around my head like that if Kathy wasn't here to help.

I thought about doing the whole family. Not that easy to do with the whole family though. I'd need a fourth person to help wrap and I don't know that Savanah would deal well with the heat. I'm going to have to get some indoor only lights and see if they are any cooler.

I'm looking forward to see all these copy cat shots!

Oh, I totally agree. The only reason it popped up this early was that it was an assignment for this week's Class with Dave. Normally, Kathy doesn't pull that stuff out until the first week of December.
