Cocktails

Cocktails by Cayusa.
Flashes fired with ebay remote. 580EX II at 1/16 power from above and Vivitar at 1/16 to camera left with slight gobo.

A possible Week 40, Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Cocktails! Is this a product shot? Is it a lifestyle picture? Is it a shameful pun? I’m not sure but I know we’re going to see some great creativity.

I took about 200 shots of these glasses. Some where successful, others not so much. Of the bunch, this was my favorite. After shooting a bunch from above or straight on I figured I'd try and different angle and I'm glad I did. I'm going to have to eventually invest in some better backgrounds, but I'm really limited on space right now.

It's funny how many martini shots we have. For me it's just the classical drink!

Cool glasses.

I actually just picked them up tonight. I only have beer glasses at the house as that is pretty much the only alcohol we drink here. Well that and the occasional blackberry brandy, but that I just drink from the bottle or a regular glass. Redneck all the way! LOL

It looks like they are dancing. Man, they look like they are having fun. I bet I'd have fun if I drank them...

Not these! Water with red food coloring, water with yellow food coloring, water with green food coloring (over did the green, my hands paid the price!) and water with blue stone in the glass! LOL

I actually didn't have any so I was pleased to find these for a really fair price at Target! They do look good. Kathy has some ideas for how to display them in the house somewhere.

Thanks!

Excellent work and lighting. Great angle too. I've also played with glasses and light over the weekend, and some good results can also be achieved by leaving the flash behind the background.
