Materials: semisolid cotton and cotton print fabric; DMC embroidery floss
Techniques: 2-, 3-, and 4-ply back stitch; french knots
Stitchery size: 8"x10"

i gotta go pick up a pillow form to know the appropriate size to finish this to. and then it'll be in the mail to the original artist and her mom!

another new beginning...

my Crafturdays tend to include steady continuation of works-in-progress along with an impulsive beginning of something new.

i couldn't resist the need to embroider this cityscape. kid art is super fun.

Materials: pre-shrunk unbleached flour sacking yardage; DMC perle cotton (no. 8)
Techniques: back stitch
Stitchery size: 6"x10"

lingering...

i love working with Malka's handdyed batik fabrics so much that i linger in every moment. i want it to take a while.

these are 2.5" squares sewn into 4-patches with some chocolate brown cotton/linen. there'll probably be scrappy regions using the remaining smaller bits of batiks.
