The bird series of antique art card ( 3.5 x 5.5 inch post card; original high quality print) post cards from The Gilbert Post Card Company dates to early 1910-20's. Each bird painting is surrounded by gold art nouveau stylized flora and pretty text. Some cards in the series had a larger bird image with a brief salutation like "Best Wishes" or "Season's Greetings". This one contains a quote from 1555 attributed to the martyr George Tankerfield and is No. 24 in the series. It depicts a pair of red-breasted robins.
