HOLY MOLY!
I've been spammed on FLickr!
How do you report that?
UN believable.
They spammed ALICE!
Yikes!
Note: I notified Flickr and within an hour
or so this was all taken care of. I've left
it up for posterity :)

OH, so THIS is Alice!! Nice to meet you
Alice. I thought it was a motorbike. Then
don't you worry, I can drive her. And I can
even take pictures while I drive! Pretty
cool, eh? :-P

Indeed. She's great to take pictures from
(rack and pinion steering, no wobble over the
road, you can steer with a knee). I have a
whole folder full of road shots somwehere on
one of my computers.

Ah, perhaps Alice will meet Harrison, my
Series 3 V12 Sov. He's a bit crocked at the
moment, and has probably contracted auto
alzheimers, as he hasn't had a drive for a
good while whilst I've been working away.
But these people who say sell, they'd
probably sell their nearest and dearest...cos
that's what it would be like.

haha, spam, lol.
Alice rocks, Jags can be an addiction, even
when they treat you mean. I used to drive an
'88 xjs v12, it was like piloting a speed
boat, or, more aptly perhaps, you'd put your
foot down and couldn't help picturing a
victorian matron picking up her skirts and
running for all she's worth.

Good analogy.
A Pinto can take me from the line, a Honda
Civic can cream me light to light, but I
don't know of a thing on the road that can
beat me to Calgary if I don't want them to :)
She's a touring car - meant for long
distances at high speeds.
Um. Not that I speed, of course. I am
speaking in theoretics.
:)
I really should sell her, though. At 18
years old she's coming around for needing a
few things soon. You know, like a
transmission.

My 17-year-old car was just a Ford Escort.
Alice is such a cool Jag! But a
transmission?
I cannot BELIEVE you got spammed!!
Absolutely amazing!! Glad the Flickr crew
took care of it. Sheesh! There is no
escape!

Man I'm feeling very disloyal to my
Oldsmobile Alero here - I recently saw a
photo of a 1969 Citroen and lusted after it.

Citroen! Nice. Love those cars. Quicker than
anything.

Depends on which Citroen you're talking
about. I've had both ends of the scale: the
DS and the 2CV... I'm looking for another 2CV
now, not the fastest you can get, but
certainly the one that's got a certain way of
life...
On the Jag side, I've had a 4.2 XJS and it
was indeed the car I've had most fun on the
road with, even though if cost me an arm and
a leg to maintain (that model was made in
South Africa and was extremely unreliable).
The few rides I've had in my friend's Daimler
(that's the one with the Double Six) were
memorable...

Thanks for the story!
Arm and leg to maintain: yep. Even though
Alice has proven very reliable with the
exception of some electrical issues that
once burnt out THREE alternators between here
and Calgary (12 hour drive)- one here, one in
Medicine Hat (affectionately renamed
something not g-rated by my friend and I who
were stranded there overnight with only a
Walmart and a restaurant named the Cock and
Bull or some such for company) and one JUST
inside the Calgary city limits.
Hey, that was the same trip the valet
"borrowed" her to go clubbing and ended up
being at the same club I'd taxi'd to. I
didn't tell on him.
But I did drive him home.
Poor kid.
Ironically, this is my favorite Alice pic

Poor kid? I'm sure a few of us would have
loved to be the valet, and not just to drive
the car... just imagine the ride ... ;-)

Cool!
Funny - I know a lot of Jag owners that
named their cars. Weird little thing, isn't
it?

funny that a muscle car family has a jag in
it. maybe you were trying to add a bit of
class to the circle?
for an '88 Alice looks like she's in
terrific shape.

This must be one of the cars I wanted as a
kid. True beauty, and it will last forever!
Consider submitting it to the V12 pool.

Oh my is she ever a beauty to drive in. I
remember many times me Aunty Cathy, Danielle,
Alexander, Uncle Quarter, Dad or Jess or
anyone would jump in her and boogie down the
road. I remember the many nights at Viking
International raceway going to the bathroom
because it was cooler to drive up in the
shacks in a Jag than walk. Love the car,
don't ever sell it! lol

Harrison is about to shuffle off to that
great Jag paradise in the sky, probably going
via ebay to be asset stripped by the
automotive equivalent of those people who
trade illicitly in the human organ donor
trade.

She's gorgeous! My dad had a 1964 MK S-Type
that he lovingly brought back from
near-oblivian (found her in a barn). They
are amazing cars.
