Oh Oh Oh - I am so glad you guys like it.
I've already decided if flickr was on fire,
this is one of the ten photos I would save.
It usually takes me a lot longer to really
like a picture, but this one I like a lot.
Which means that most other people won't,
is the usual case :) So, I am SO pleased that
you do.
I'm a sap, I know.

What a great way to remember your dad. What a
great picture. Man, now I miss my dad, and he
was a cantankerous grump. But still...

I have a stack of these very same slides that
my Dad had made -- and 3 years ago went
through them and found never-before-seen
family photographs, true gems.
This shot reminds me of that feeling -- I
love it.

What a wonderfully symbolic picture! My wife
uses a similar bowl to store and display all
sorts of small items of emotional value. She
calls it her "Wealth Bowl".

Yeah, I agree that the story makes the photo
extra goosebumpy.
I love when the photographer explains
his/her mindset when they shot something.
It allows us to feel the importance of the
concept.

My father has been very ill, so its
especially nice that people like this
photograph.
The slide that you can see is a picture of
him sitting in the driver's seat against a
Cape Breton sunset. The car was a 1976
LeMans. He was the same age I am now.

memories that you've shared here.
i also miss my dad, who left much too early
28 years ago.
i love looking through the old slides of
him and my family; they evoke such priceless
memories.
we had a '64 LeMans. he LOVED that 2-door
silver, black topped beauty!

Magic - and how it came about. Great ghostly
reflections.
I love your idea of keeping a fish bowl
around waiting for an idea. (Maybe that is
what all my clutter is waiting for - could be
my story!)
Are those slides jumping up and down
begging to be looked at?
So creative.

The image on the screen is nice, but the one
that you created in my mind is wonderful. I
have a little stack of my 35mm slides held
together with a rubber band that I keep in my
nightstand . They hold some special memories
of my youth. Sometimes when I wake from a
disturbing dream, just knowing that I have
them is enough to make everything ok.

Hello,
I'm an administrator for the group
~GiRLsStuFf~ and I've just noticed your great
pic.
It would go together so well with the
group's main idea.
It'd be great if you'd consider joining the
group. :)
I must mention that I just started the
group, so please don't let the small number
of members and photos scare you off. It's
only the beginning. :)
Kind regards, Linda
hope to see you soon in ~GiRLsStuFf~
