Defiant...

Defiant...

This Peregrine Falcon was photographed quite a while ago, during a demo given by the Cornell Raptor Program during a Father's Day show at Ithaca's East Hill Flying Club.
This photo triggered alot of question during the Exhibit opening reception, because of the unusual colors in the background of the bird. It is not photoshopped!! - the red is the sleeve of the falcon's handler, while the blue and yellow areas are a tail of a small Cessna parked at the club. Luck never hurts... :-)

This photo was on show (18"x24" framed) in the 2010 Cayuga Nature Photographers exhibit hosted by the Ithaca Unitarian Church (Dec. 2010 - Jan. 2011).

I Believe I Can Fly...

I Believe I Can Fly...

Trilliums are probably the most popular flowers with fellow CNP photographers (and not only: the white Trillium is the national flower of Ontario Canada!). They can be found in many areas around Ithaca, I have seen while, yellow and purple ones, and their size may vary. Not sure whether this purple one was photographed in Cornell University's Mundy Wildflower Garden or somewhere on the Six Mile Creek trail on the way to Potter Falls.

The Twins

The Twins

A couple of lilies grew very close together, making for an interesting splash of color. Photographed at Sonnenberg Gardens, an impressive mansion with pretty flowers around the year, located in Canandaigua, NY.

Waking Up

Waking Up

A very young ostrich fern, photographed in Cornell University's Mundy Wildfllower Garden. The undeveloped ferns always have amazing shape and texture (with the little hairs), but the grains of dust and leftover spiderweb made it even more interesting
