i cut a piece of foam core to fit to the back and covered it with maps of maine and yellowstone
squished penny collection
vintage kid encyclopedias
elements of style illustrated - hardback *and* paperback
half-dollar collection from grandma
powerbook G3 laptop - old school
unidentified. please rectify immediately.
::pokes around back here::
bambi and bamboo, twin deer thrifted on my honeymoon
thank you, thank you - i believe you have a similar love of maps ;^)
"hello! we are the ubiquitous deer of 2007!"
odd, inherited, never-tarnishes silver vessel with lovely patina - holds loose photographs
espresso set - remember when everyone started drinking espresso and cappacino in the 90s?
yellow frankoma jugs - if you see one at a garage sale for a dollar, snag it for me.
dark, mysterious cave of distant memories
i need a new collection for this cool vintage jar. oh, and i collect vintage jars.
ooh, there's some good stuff hiding back there
yeah, cappicinao is awesome. love me some capucinno.
rofl. dude, where's your owl ? ?
and my bird on a twig! don't forget my bird on a twig!
A real cabinet of curiosities! I love it :)
i gave up my office in the loft to dominic for his cool new bedroom, and i'm moving down to the dining nook to work. this buffet held dishes and kitchen things — now i'm making it over to hold my office things.
this is my new work table (when we're not eating on it).

thank you, claire! :^) mm, i like looking at
my stuff. glass-front cabinet doors are a
good way of dealing with my
must-be-able-to-see-my-stuff-at-all-times
disorder.
r•j•r - hahaha - well, maybe if you'd come
*visit* me .. with a really *big*
pocketbook...

molly, i had a pretty big collection, then a
few years ago i covered the walls of our loft
with maps when it was being used as the boys'
toy area. destroyed quite a few old nat'l
geographic maps! now i'm a big hoard-y with
the ones i have left, but the yellowstone
map, as much as i loved it, was falling
apart, and, well, i like to look at maps of
my favorite places every day! :^)

i've been thinkning about this cabinet ever
since seeing this picture. well, not
constantly, but definitley ruminating about
how to use my maps (I have what seems ot be
thousands of topos, road maps, town maps,
political maps) instead of keeping in a box.
Have you seen this stuff?

extremely coincidentally (!), a good friend
just sent me that very same link!
i've done a considerable amount of
decoupaging - that's not a difficult project!
i've been thinking about something like

ooooh serendipity! and yes, I love
chezlarsson, she has such a controlled touch,
I will never achieve that myself, but love
lookign at it. I think a map rack next to
the loo would be good!

well done! I bet it took a lot of time just
thinking about doing the project--much less
actually doing it. The cabinet looks great!
