73 Mount Pleasant.

73 Mount Pleasant.

No 73. Mount Pleasant is listed in the 1851 census, as a Lodging House run by a Ms Elizabeth Newstead.

By 1861 until at least 1881, the building was occupied by the Jones family, and was a private house.

By 1894, the building is being used as a dentist's surgery, and continued to do so until at least 1900.

About 1905 this opened as a Temperance Hotel run by James Lishman Dixon.

By 1907, the building was known as The Antrim Commercial Hotel, with Mr John (Jack) Montgomery as the proprietor.

The hotel is still open today, under the name of 'Antrim Hotel'.

See a 1931 advert for the hotel: www.flickr.com/photos/carrie132/6749204623/in/photostream/

245 Stanley Road.

245 Stanley Road.

This was the tailors of Robert Thomson.

The Thomson business is listed at these premises from at least 1889 until at least 1975.
(The business also acquired No's : 241 & 243 Stanley Rd at some point)

Robert Thomson was born in 1849 c. and died in 1899 in Liscard.
His son Charlie Harry Thomson is listed on the 1901 census as a 'Master Tailor' and presumably carried on this business after his father.

By 1980, the business is no longer listed in the telephone book.

(Thanks to PGM for help)
