Memories

Memories by ~Darin~.
This shot is in memory of my Uncle Tom. He passed away Tuesday night of cancer. He touched many lives and he will be greatly missed. He visited me at my store almost every day until his body wouldn’t let him. I can’t believe he is gone. I was by his side when he took his last breath. One of his passions in life was shooting. Guns, collecting pennies, and old tractors were very important hobbies to him. He begged me and my brother to shoot up some rounds that he had loaded, and we were more than happy to fulfill his wish. He was able to complete most of what he wanted to accomplish before passing away, and I was able to help him complete some of his wishes. Here’s to you Tom. I miss you very much. :(

Awww Darin... I am so very sorry for your huge loss! :,(
I know you and he were very close and I know that both makes it that much harder but also is nice that you have so many fond memories to remember him by. I hope and pray that you are comforted in your time of need and that you heal more and more each day.
I know you loved him very much and he loved you just as much! :)
Thank you so much for the words about him, it's so sweet that he came to visit you ever single day that he possibly could! :)
He sounds like he was a wonderful man and I know he will be greatly missed!
This is truly a lovely tribute to him and I'm sure he's looking down proudly with a big smile on his face! :D

My condolences my friend. I never knew the man, but he sounds like a great friend.

I would frame this picture and hang it in a quiet spot in your house - in his room my father has one of his 'uncle' from church, helping him dig a sewer in our old backyard a few months before he died suddenly from a heart attack - after beating a 9 month battle with cancer. It is one of his most cherished posessions..

My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm sure even Daisy picks up on the sadness...

Oh Darin.....I can see how much your heart is hurting and I can feel the lump you have in your throat as you type those words.

I understand.....truly I do.

I do not like guns but I had to favorite this one.........the words.....the kindness....the love.

Uncle Tom was so blessed to have you in his life and you have already shared what a blessing he was to you. The "bond" you two had sounded more like Father and Son instead of Uncle and Nephew.......what a blessing.

Uncle Tom will live on through you until "you" take your last breath.....through every single thing you shared with him and through all he taught you throughout his life......just by being Uncle Tom. What a legacy to leave.....we should all be so lucky.
