great capture.
but, now that i look at it, the periodic
table in the background may have
unintentionally sent the wrong message if the
subject had been a girl ;-)

Interesting and unusual image, I like the
relativity between foreground subject and
background.

Great shot...I like the comments about
Holmium. Great job, you're doing wonders with
the Fuji! Let me know if you want to get rid
of that dust gathering D200 ;-)

Kevantlin: I think it would have been fine. I
actually used the D200 AND the S5 on this
shoot, both slung around my neck. See?

Michaelnyc already said it, but I'll say it
again... the DOF is perfect in that shot --
narrow enough to highlight his profile and
give a sense of three dimensions, and yet the
periodic table is readable, recognizable, and
not "distractingly blurred"...

I think it doesn't matter what they use to
take, it is the photographer who makes all
the difference.
Ryan, Thanks for posting the pictures! Keep them
coming.

Excellent, truly excellent. You have an
excellent rapport with your subjects, even
when they don't know you are shooting them !
