See-food
I suspect the marks on Sarah's face are photo blemishes rather than bruises, but she could certainly pass for an abused child here.
The dark spot under her toenail, though, is probably from the time she managed to pull an unopened jar of mayonnaise out of the pantry, then promptly dropped it on her toe. I ended up taking her to the ER to make sure nothing was broken.
Good news: Her toe is the only thing that prevented the heavy glass jar from breaking and spilling its contents. What a waste that would've been.
Okay I'm KIDDING. The good news is that she checked out with no serious injuries. Nevermind that her foot looks sorta deformed here.

CHICKEN POT PIE #16382
I want my houseguests to be well fed during their stay ... but that doesn't mean I cook for them. Since this isn't the first Costco chicken pot pie I've thrown in the oven and served, I know it's gonna be melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

What inspired me to take this picture is the dot-pattern condensation that had formed inside the plastic wrap. I discovered it when I pulled it out of the refrigerator, where it's been since bringing it home from Costco early this afternoon. And yes, the condensation's really on the inside of the clear plastic. Perhaps some genius out there can explain the scientific reason for such a phenomenon. Then again, this may be one of those orb mysteries. Either way, I reckon I'll believe anything.
Good thing it takes an hour and a half to bake, since I've just remembered that my guests are normal diners who expect to have dessert after a meal. Since we typically don't do that around here, I oftentimes forget and end up running to Walgreens for a half-gallon of ice cream at the last minute. And it's always one of those weeks when Blue Bell's not on sale.
