Shadow of Now and Then

Shadow of Now and Then

I love to bike on the roads between fields and farm land. This small cabin has been there longer than the trees. The corners are cut with notches, something you rarely see any more. The trees have taken the brunt of the north wind for years and have grown with a sway in them. A gorgeous sight in the morning.

Procreation's Expiration Date

Procreation's Expiration Date

This piece is about our limited time to live and create. It was just shown in the Springville Museum. I love how the light plays with the clear acrylic. It took forever to melt and shape it, but the look is terrific. Note that the eggs have bar-codes and expiration dates on them.

Past and Future

Past and Future

The past is being laid to rest, the future functions at full force. The newer sprinklers are really much better for farmers, but the older more aesthetically pleasing.

Eventually

Eventually

This is a spontaneous painting that is about events, warnings, things that will eventually happen. Basically the future is coming, and it will bring changes, but we don’t know what they will be. The full moon is a symbol of now, a phase that will soon change.

In the collection of Kristen Barnhill

Early Morning John Deer

Early Morning John Deer

I love the way the light fills the cab of this tractor. It reminds me of when my grandpa got a really nice air conditioned tractor. It was either that or quit farming, because his hay fever/asthma got so bad. He really knew how to work.
