Meeting Point

    A nice glass dome in the center of the terminal past security. Nice with the sunlight coming in.

    Just a note on security.. I was expecting the ultimate examination.. one I'd need to start smoking cigarettes once into the concourse... no such "luck".. Montreal had if anything slightly tighter security. There they scanned the bar code on my boarding pass at least 5 times before I got out into the concourse. Both cities had the full body scanners and standard x-ray machines. On my trip to Columbus I got picked for the body scanner but not to Houston. In Houston the body scanner was roped off.

    One interesting thing, one passenger ahead of me in Houston got through and took off into the concourse before he or she was suppose to. Everything stopped.. A large horn blew which startled everyone. Security people started to poke their heads up and there seemed to be confusion. I didn't see anyone run after them but I Think someone did. We were all held up for about 5 minutes while they dealt with this security detail. I thought their response was less than I would have expected but it was a moment of brief excitement.

      great shot with the light play, I was just there on my way back home from outerspace. (first time ever I got scanned/zapped), you shouldn't be messing up your barcode you know

      Well I thought the same thing. Someone yelled and startled everyone... the very loud horn blew and then all the security people got excited but it all seemed uncoordinated... probably it wasn't but to my untrained eye I was unable to see what was happening fully so it was easy to come to a wrong conclusion.. or at least I hope that was the case. Once in Grand Rapids the same thing happened and they emptied out the entire concourse and made everyone go back through security again. Someone had gotten through with a knife and they had pulled over the wrong people to re-examine.
