Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa by caribb.
The famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Somewhat small in scale... fully protected with glass and a barrier to prevent anyone from getting close to it. Compared to other pieces of work in the museum it isn't really all that impressive other that it's probably the most known work in the building if not the world. Cool seeing it though.

Lord of the Wings - LOL... I'll never look at this painting again in the same way as I did before the book.... nor the pyramids...

tka group - Ah ha...and just where have YOU hidden it? :-):-)

The last time I was there, 1999, you could not get within 30 feet of it because of all the Japanese tourists with point and shoot cameras. Kind of amusing really.

I wish I had gone to the Louvre when I was in Paris, it would have been amazing to see. I did look in through the glass pyramid though.

We did go to the Musée d'Orsay while we were there.

argusfoto - LOL. I had the same issue with the "Venus de Milo" No one could get a shot of themselves with it because a group of about 50 Asian tourists were going up one at a time to have their picture taken beside her.

MatthewPHX - Funny, I've always wanted to go to the Musée d'Orsay but have yet to manage to get inside. So this means we both have to go back LOL.
