When shooting photos from a train, use the top curved windows in the observation car, it reduces reflections and the windows are usually cleaner as well.
When travelling by train, bring plenty of water and lozenges.
Though you get to see tons of gorgeous scenery, you're trapped behind a sealed window. I want to go up and feel the rock, breathe the air ... it's a lot like TV, but the resolution is much better.
